Key drivers include: US Dollar strength (Gold moves inversely to USD in most conditions), US Federal Reserve interest rate decisions (higher rates typically weaken Gold; lower rates support it), real yields on US Treasuries, inflation data (CPI), geopolitical tensions and global conflict, central bank Gold reserve purchases, and overall risk sentiment in financial markets.
Gold CFDs on Amille trade approximately 23 hours per day on weekdays, with a brief 1-hour pause for daily clearing and settlement. The most liquid and tightest-spread period for Gold is during the London-New York session overlap (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM GMT), when both European and US market participants are simultaneously active.
