Spot gold plunged more than 3% in a single, heavy bearish candle, forcefully breaking below the key psychological level of USD 5,000. By the New York close, gold settled at USD 4,920, after touching an intraday low of USD 4,878—down as much as 4.2% and marking its lowest level since 6 February.
